Wilderness Experiences O
f A
Prophet
It is written in Matthew 11:7-10...
7. What went ye out
into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8. But what went ye out for to
see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that
wear
soft clothing are in king's houses.
9. But what went ye out
for to see? A Prophet? yea, I say unto you, and
more than a Prophet.
10. For this is he of whom
it is written.....
For the most part, God's
Prophet's
have been men of the wilderness. At some point in
their
peculiar ministries they have with-drawn into the
wilderness
away from civilization. And there in the rugged desolate
country they are set apart for a special work. In the wilderness Almighty
God fashions the character of His servants, making them obedient vessels, who,
in season and out of season, are ready for the Masters use. They become
"prisoners of the Lord".
For most people the wilderness
(dense forests, deserts and mountains)
are only for the adventurous in spirit. It can
be vicious to all forms of life - human, animal
and plant - and in it, only the most hardy can survive.
No
soft disguises of civilization can survive here.
Wilderness
life hones the nature of it's captives until the true
substance
is exposed, be it good or evil. It is not a place
for the foolhardy, or the faint-hearted.
But for a few, the Wilderness
becomes a place of communion, for there is another
wind that moves amongst the hidden canyons and dry
river beds. Just as the Eagle waits to feel the breath
of the desert beneath his wing tips, God's prophets
retreat to the wilderness to await communion with
the Winds of His Spirit.
The wilderness was the realm
in which fiery
Old Testament Prophets such as Elijah, Elisha, John
the Baptist and others lived and moved in the power of the Spirit of the Living
God. They mounted up with wings as Eagles, soaring into the unknown realms of
God's will and Word. The rugged, arid conditions of the wilderness became the
molding ground for prophets. Alone,
they wandered through deserts, forests and mountains, awaiting God's
command.
Each was the chosen 'mouthpiece' of God, and when they
spoke it was "Thus Saith The Lord" to their
Generation.
It is not unusual that God's
Prophet to this Last
Age was 'mysteriously drawn' in his spirit to the
wilderness. It was
here that God communed with His Servant in a special way.
In this page
we will rehearse the Supernatural experiences which
God's end time Prophet, William
Branham, has had in the mountains. Most of the time these
experiences
occurred when he was alone in the wilderness, BUT there
are other
experiences which have been witnessed by brethren who
happened
to be with him at the time.
For William Branham the wilderness was 'home'. This
is where he really felt 'at home'. He loved to hunt and fish - he was a true
sportsman in every sense of the word. But his trips into the wilderness were not
always for the purpose of hunting or fishing. Many times he would
go to be alone with God. When other brethren have been in his company
while hunting, the Angel has at times come near and instructed Brother
Branham to move away from the others and go into a private place
where 'he' could there speak with the Prophet without interruption. Without
a doubt this generation has been witness to "An Open Vision Ministry".
We will, in brief speak of the following.....
1. The Road To Sunset Mountain...
2. An Angel In The Mountain Camp...
3. Sabino Canyon's Supernatural "Signs"...
4. The Colorado Coral Peaks Walk...
5. Lost! On Hurricane Mountain...
6. The Mountains Of God...
